Les Essarts

A small town of 5,000 souls located in the Vendée countryside, between highways A83 and A87, Les Essarts retained its rural character up until the early sixties. Today, the shopping district and two business zones hold most of the two thousand jobs. With its exceptional location, the town appeals both to businesses and individuals seeking a quieter life in the country. Tourists enjoy the hiking paths as well as the architectural landmarks (11th century crypt, medieval castle, Romanesque great door of former church...), with camping facilities and guest houses to accommodate their stay.
