Montceau les Mines : a youthful city
Montceau les Mines celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.

With Paris only one hour and twenty minutes away and Lyon forty minutes by TGV, Montceau has a population of 21,000 and has undergone major changes over the past ten years.

After the decline of mining, the town turned itself to several major companies (Michelin, Terex, Clayeux,, as well as a variety of smaller companies.

Posted at the heart of saône et Loire, on the canal du center, the town asserts itself as one of the department’s key commercial and economic centers, and has considerable tourist potential, thanks notably to its pleasure harbor, where many French and foreign tourists dock their boats each year.

A dynamic and attractive town, Montceau holds many sporting and cultural events the year round (30,000 people attend the TSB Accordion Festival, National Gymnastics training facilities).
