 Ambiance Festival Interceltique (Josiane Grand-Colas) Lorient
City of history and art, Lorient was created 340 years ago by the Compagnie des Indes. Rebuilt after the extensive destructions of World War II, its modern architecture is typical of the 1950’s.
In many ways Lorient is a lively town : through its university, sports and culture. A harbor town, in keeping with its maritime tradition Lorient will inaugurate the Eric Tabarly sailing Center in 2007, ensuring the economic conversion of the former submarine base.
Animated and attached to tradition, Lorient is home to the Festival Interceltique, the annual rendezvous for Celtic musicians from all over the world. With its unpretentious dynamism and friendly people, Lorient is truly where the living is easy!
