Special rules
ARTICLE 1. Organisation
The 93rd LIÈGE-BASTOGNE-LIÈGE is organised by Amaury Sport Organisation and the Royal Pesant Club Liégeois according to the rules of the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the Royal Belgian Cycling League. This year's event will be held on Sunday 29 April 2007.
ARTICLE 2. Participation
The race is open to sporting groups and the number of riders per team is 5 minimum and 8 maximum.
ARTICLE 3. Administration
An administration office is open on Saturday 28 April from 2:30-6:30 p.m. at:
PALAIS PROVINCIAL - Palais des Princes-Evêques
Place Saint-Lambert in LIÈGE
The team leaders must confirm their teams and collect their numbered bibs from 2:30-4:45 p.m.
The meeting of Sports Directors, organised in compliance with article 1.2.087 of the UCI, in the presence of the members of the college of commissioners, is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the administration office.
ARTICLE 4. Radio-Tour
Race information and coverage is broadcast on the tour radio station 169.425 MHZ.
ARTICLE 5. Neutral Technical Assistance
The neutral technical assistance service is provided by MAVIC.
The service fleet includes 3 technical cars and 1 motorbike.
ARTICLE 6. Finishing Times
Any rider whose finishing time exceeds 5% of the winning time is not ranked. This limit can be extended in exceptional circumstances by a joint decision of the college of commissioners and the organisers.
ARTICLE 7. Ranking
The following rankings are established:
- Individual time ranking.
- Ranking of uphill sections.
ARTICLE 8. Ranking of Uphill Sections
A general ranking is established by adding together the points attributed for all 12 uphill sections.
The points awarded for these uphill sections are 4 - 2 - 1 points respectively for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed riders.
To qualify for the final general ranking prizes the riders must finish the race.
In the event of a draw, the ranking across the finishing line takes precedence.
The prize money attributed for the ranking of uphill sections is spread between the finish line rankings for each uphill section and the final general ranking.

TABLE OF PRIZES FOR UPHILL SECTIONS
For each of the uphill sections:
- for the 1st placed rider: €250
i.e. €250 X 12 = €3,000
Final general ranking
- for the 1st placed rider: €2,000
- for the 2nd placed rider: €750
- for the 3rd placed rider: €500
i.e. €3,250
TOTAL PRIZE WINNINGS ATTRIBUTED FOR THE UPHILL SECTIONS: €6,250
GENERAL TOTAL OF PRIZE WINNINGS DISTRIBUTED FOR THE RACE: €56,250
ARTICLE 10. Anti-dopaging
The anti-doping tests are carried out under the authority of the UCI and designated officials in the organisers' caravan, located near the changing rooms.
ARTICLE 11. Protocol
In compliance with article 1.12.112 of the UCI rule, the following riders should present themselves for the protocol:
- The first 3 riders to finish.
- The winner of the ranking of uphill sections.
ARTICLE 12. Penalities
The scale of penalties set by the UCI is the only applicable scale.
