The stage analysis

Tuesday 13 March 2007
stage 2 | Vatan > Limoges - 177 km

Vatan – Limoges

The analysis of François Lemarchand (former rider, race regulator on the A.S.O. cycling events)

The Westerly wind that could hit the pack sideways during the first sixty kilometres of the race will be part of the game: once again, the pack could indeed break up. Then, when the race will enter the Haute-Vienne area, the riders will discover the roads of the Tour du Limousin, especially some hills that could be rather demanding. While a bunched finish could occur, the last thirty promise to be tense. The narrowness of the roads and the numerous turns will condemn any rider left outside of the leading thirty as they head to the finish. If he is among the front men, Tom Boonen could be the man of the day on a final uphill sprint.
