Limoges
Limoges: a sporting nature!
By offering all the equipment necessary to practice recreational and top-level sports, the city of Limoges allows 30,000 registered athletes to enjoy their favorite activities under the best conditions. Playing sports in Limoges also means basking in an exceptional setting: well-preserved natural spots, pure air, and more. Moreover, the city regularly hosts international sporting events because of its quality infrastructure and its ideal environment for competitive activities. Finally, because sports are a great way to learn about life, the municipal government proposes a variety of activities for young people. So it is that youth can improve their skills in the sport of their choice under the guidance of professional coaches and trainers...With the organization of many other events, the city of Limoges seeks to remind citizens that participating in sports plays an essential role in boosting tolerance and respect for ourselves and others.

Vatan
On the road from Paris to Toulouse, this tiny town of 2,000 souls received the title "stage village" in 1997. Vatan’s mission is to receive, greet and inform highway users; the bestowment of this label indicates that our city has been deemed capable of offering excellent services and retail opportunities. It is also the home of a circus museum, the only one of its kind in France. Located in the heart of the village, its collections are extraordinarily rich. It is a must-see stop. The partially renovated Saint Laurian church rises above the town. The main door and the choir are listed on the Supplemental Registry of historic monuments. At the Place de la République, the covered wheat market (also a listed monument) demonstrates that this town was a suitable place for gatherings, fairs and markets. A Museum of Equipment will soon be opening its doors a few kilometers off the A20 highway on the site of the former home of Ferdinand de Lesseps. It was at this location that he designed the process used to dig the Suez Canal. The gastronomy of our region is more than tempting. Generously prepared products like potato cakes and Berrichon pâté are especially well liked.
On 13 March 2007, Vatan will host the kick-off to the second stage of the Paris-Nice bicycle race, marking a stop in a village both hospitable and attuned to the well-being of its visitors.
