Manosque
Manosque, between tradition and modernity
The adopted home of Edouard Fachleitner, runner-up in the 1947 Tour de France, and of Richard Podesta, best young rider in the 1973 Paris-Nice, cultivates the art of living. Bordered by hills to the north and overlooking the vast plains of Durance, Manosque is rooted in Provence with an eye turned to the Alps. Our 7,700 registered sports enthusiasts (out of a total population of 22,000) lace up their trainers with gusto: regardless of the activity – from the most traditional to the most unusual and including mountain climbing, sculling and mountain biking – the winds of liberty that ruffled the hair of Jean Giono blow on all the happenings of Manosque. The cool Mistral winds and the warming breath off the Mediterranean do battle in meteorological matches that the crenellated towers of the town center have resisted for centuries. A land of traditions, Manosque tirelessly promotes its cultural heritage and can now find its name among those listed in France’s historic register. With its back to the Mont d’Or hill, where the greenish yellow of our AOC olive oil flows, the city is now enjoying a second wind thanks to the development of the Iter-Cadarache project. And Manosque has every intention of making good use of this dynamism.A phrase from novelist Jean Giono comes to mind:
"Here is the magical place... he who wishes to enter these happy lands will find the doors wide open..."

Sorgues
Sorgues, a city with many faces
The confluence of the Rhône and the Ouvèze and the presence of the Sorgues that traverse its territory have given the city its identity.
Its proximity to major communication paths and its equidistance from Avignon, the Comtat Venaissin and the principality of Orange have contributed to its growth.
Sorgues, a city of contrasts, does not offer itself up: it must be discovered.
Its ancient heritage, its diverse economic fiber and its rich, varied non-profit sector win over new residents each year.
Sorgues is a dynamic, living city that is resolutely confident in the future, and we are delighted to welcome you.
