Savoie and Haute Savoie have joined together to form a unique tourist destination: Savoie Mont Blanc.
This welcoming area is interspersed with magnificent towns whose history is over a thousand years old (Annecy, Chambéry, Chamonix, Évian, Albertville, Aix-les-Bains, etc.), many villages decorated with flowers and mountain resorts. It stretches out between emblematic Mont Blanc and four great Alpine lakes (Aiguebelette, Le Bourget, Annecy and Lake Geneva). They say that nature is beautiful here all year long with its palette of eye-catching colours: snow white, fir green, beach beige, sky blue and passionate red! Savoie Mont Blanc promises visitors that they will discover a “breathtaking wonderland” at every altitude of the region.
Seeing is believing and the Critérium du Dauphiné will provide an ideal opportunity to verify this with a varied and demanding route which will criss-cross the region. Professional cyclists will thus open the way to a summer 2011 season that cycling enthusiasts will love: green ways along the banks of the lakes and rivers, mountain passes reserved for cyclists, major events with the hundredth anniversary of the Galibier during the Tour de France, etc. Would you like to experience the great outdoors and to ride freely? Then choose Savoie Mont Blanc as your destination this summer. Stay ideas and good deals are featured on the resort’s website:
