The Lepelenburg park and the nearby streets along the canals in the centre of Utrecht were crowded for the presentation of the twenty-two teams of the 2015 Tour de France. They lined up on stage for the traditional picture after an introduction by the mayor Jan van Zanen, event director Christian Prudhomme and the rock band Blaudzun.

Thirty years after the last overall win by a Frenchman (Bernard Hinault) and one year after the rebirth with two French riders (Jean-Christophe Péraud and Thibaut Pinot) accompanying Vincenzo Nibali on the final podium on the Champs-Elysées, fans of French cycling are on their toes ahead of the 102nd edition of the race. Andorra will welcome the 103rd Tour de France, scheduled to start on July 2, 2016, from Le Mont-Saint-Michel (Manche). Christian Prudhomme, (director of the Tour de France) and Francesc Camp (Minister of Tourism of Andorra) made the announcement following the signature of a memorandum of understanding. The peloton of the Grande Boucle will stay three days in the Principality, with a stage finish, a rest day and a stage start.

The details for the Grand Départ of the 2016 Tour de France were announced at mid-day by Tour de France Director, Christian Prudhomme, and Jean-François Le Grand, President of the Manche General Council in the heart of the Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey. The peloton will set off on Saturday July 2, 2016 from the foot of the "Marvel of the Western World" for three days of racing in the department that will host start of the Tour de France for the first time.
