Huy - Finish City
Huy, le Mur, a summit!
The bicycle and our city share a long love story. The many occasions when the Tour de France has passed through have punctuated the sporting history of our city, with highpoints being certainly the designation of Huy as a start city, in 1995, of a memorable timed race and, in 2001, the superb line stage of Huy-Verdun in 2001. But it doubtless the Mur, an extraordinary finish line for the Flèche Wallonne, that has that really established the reputation of Huy. Its daunting 19° 1-kilometre ascension offers a special thrill to all cycling enthusiasts and cycling’s greatest have all distinguished themselves here. After the race, please accept our invitation to stroll through the Vieux-Huy or to bask in the sun in one of the terrace cafés of the Grand-Place, historic and architectural core of the city. |
