ARTICLE 1. Organisation
The 91st Liege-Bastogne-Liege is organised by Amaury Sport Organisation and the Royal Pesant Club Liégeois, under the rules and regulations of the International Cyclists Union (UC) and the Royale Ligue Vélocipédique Belge. It will be contestged on Sunday, 24 April, 2005.
ARTICLE 2. Type of race
The race is restricted to athletes belonging to the Men's Elite category.
ARTICLE 3. Participation
In compliance with article 2.1.005 of UCI regulations, the race is open to UCI ProTeams and Professional Continental Teams.
In compliance with article 2.2.003 of UCI regulations, the number of contestants per team is a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8.
ARTICLE 4. Offices
Office hours at the start will be held on Saturday, 23 April from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the:
PALAIS PROVINCIAL – Palais des Princes Evêques
Place Saint Lambert
in Liege
Contestant numbers are collected by the managers of the licensed teams from 2:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
The Sports Directors' Meeting, organised in compliance with article 1.2.087 of UCI regulations, in the presence of the Members of the College of Commissioners, is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the organisations offices.
ARTICLE 5. Radio-Tour
Race information is broadcast on the Frequency 169.425 MHZ.
ARTICLE 6. Neutral Technical Assistance
Neutral technical assistance services are provided by Mavic.
This service is made available by means of 3 technical vehicles.
ARTICLE 7. Finish Time Frames
The arrival of any contestant in a time frame going over the winner's time by more than 5% is not retained in the classification. This time frame can be increased in case of exceptional circumstances by the College of Commissioners, in consultation with the organiser.
ARTICLE 8. Classifications
The following classifications have been established:
individual classification by time,
classification by Mounts.
ARTICLE 8b. Classification of slopes
The general classification is determined by adding the points awarded for the full set of 12 slopes.
These slopes award respectively 4 – 2 and 1 point to the first three 3 contestants to make the classification.
To be eligible for the prize for the general final classification, the contestants must finish the race.
In case of a draw, the classification at the finish line determines the outcome.
The awards given out for the classification by Monts are distributed among the classifications for the summits of the slopes and the general final classification.

ARTICLE 10. Anti-doping
The anti-doping control is conducted under the authority of the International Cyclists Union (UCI) and designated Officials, in the Motor Home of the organisation, located next to the dressing rooms/showers.
ARTICLE 17. Protocol
In compliance with the article 1.12.112 of UCI regulations, the following contestants must participate in the protocol:
the first three contestants in the race,
the winner of the classification by Mounts.
ARTICLE 18. Penalties
The UCI scale of penalties is the only applicable one.
